Firstly, concerning Grenoble itself:
"It's a nice town! And I’m sure you'll like the French culture, less night clubs, more cozy bars, better women, better wine and food, better landscape... Plus, French girls love Brits with an accent!"

On Learning languages:
"My (Italian) father always tells me that the only way to learn a language properly is to have an affair with a native. He speaks nine languages. All, he maintains, the result of his hectic love life. Interestingly, his English is appalling. My mother, he told me, learnt Italian in about three weeks. She confirms this and says it was because she fell in love, which seems to confirm my father’s theory."
